1st Annual Young Social Scientists’
Sustainability Research Forum
November 17 , 2010
423 ILR Conference Center, Cornell University
8:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Sponsored by the Institute for the Social Sciences & the Atkinson Center for a Sustainable Future
Overview
This forum will showcase the research programs of half a dozen talented younger social science faculty working on energy, environment and/or economic development issues – or at the intersection of these issues – in a sequence of 20 minute presentations in which each faculty member outlines his or her broad research program (retrospective and prospective) for the Cornell community at large. The objective is to stimulate more dialogue across campus, both within the social sciences on sustainability research and within the non-social science sustainability research community with social scientists. The forum will begin with coffee and continental breakfast starting at 8:00 AM, with presentations from 8:30 AM until 12:15 PM. A coffee break in the middle and a complimentary buffet lunch afterwards will offer opportunity for informal interactions to follow up presentations and questions.
